Is Powder Sunscreen Effective?
The best sunscreen is the one you'll want to wear. Sunscreen lotions either leave a white cast or make your face greasy, but what about a setting powder with SPF? It usually comes with a built-in brush that allows you to reapply quickly if you're wearing makeup and it can help soak up oil and sweat.

Dermatologists suggest using powder sunscreen only if you're already wearing a layer of SPF lotion or cream. Otherwise, you'll need to apply an unusual amount of powder to achieve the same level of sun protection.
Feel Better
Look for a broad-spectrum sunscreen powder that has an SPF of 30 or higher. If you have sensitive skin, opt for a mineral formula that contains either zinc oxide or titanium dioxide.
