While it's certainly easy to get sucked into the video loop, the platform also serves as a source of meaningful information. One of the app's most recent trends offers a bit of the latter, but experts say it should also be taken with a grain of salt.
Many app users are currently taking the "Multidimensional Anger Test" and sharing their results with others. It's a legitimate test influenced by research conducted by psychologist Judith Siegel, who's known for her research into trauma and reactivity. In short, it assesses the varying dimensions of anger—including frequency, duration, and mode of expression.
While the test may offer some good insights, the results shouldn't be considered a diagnosis. Not only could they be inaccurate, but self-diagnosis may lead people down an incorrect or unhelpful treatment path.
Also, while sharing our experiences with mental health can help us connect with others, you shouldn't feel pressure to share something with an audience unless it's something you absolutely want to do.
It's perfectly OK to take mental health tests and quizzes. In fact, doing so can help you better understand yourself and your emotions or at least start thinking about different concepts.
