Study: Just One Green Fruit Per Week Can Change Your Heart

Among fruits, kiwi is one of the richest sources of vitamins, polyphenols, and antioxidants. That's why Spanish researchers decided to test the effect of regular consumption of the fruit on the heart, since polyphenols and antioxidants are believed to protect against heart disease. While the study's sample size of 1,469 people was relatively small, the results were pretty surprising: eating at least one kiwi per week was associated with an improved blood lipid profile, with lower triglycerides and better levels of HDL or "good" cholesterol.
