I'm not sure who hated vaccination time more, my mother or I. I got stuck, sure, but she had to endure my Oscar-worthy doctor's office dramatics.

As Immunization Awareness Month winds down, be sure you know what's recommended for your kids (and you). Then consider having lots of ice cream on standy to make amends for the poking and prodding. Always worked for me.


2010 Childhood Immunization Schedule
Each year, a bunch of docs get together and publish new immunization recommendations for kids and teens. One of the changes this year is actually a win for crying kiddies everywhere.

Stick me with a needle and I'll turn into a version of my 6-year-old self. Still, I'll be a brave soldier when it comes time for me to get my next recommended shot. And yes, I will treat myself to a vanilla cone afterward...with sprinkles.
