Study: Big Health Benefits to Small Weight Loss

A recent study has confirmed that if you're overweight, even a little bit of weight loss can have an astounding impact on your overall health. In a clinical trial, forty obese individuals were split into four groups: some maintained their weight while others lost five, ten, or fifteen percent of their body weight. It was found that the folks who lost just five percent improved their diabetes risk, blood pressure, heart rate, and cholesterol levels. The study author Samuel Klein, a professor at Washington University School of Medicine, put it best: "You get a big bang for your buck with 5 percent."
