The body has its own ways of getting rid of toxins--both those it makes naturally, and the human-made chemicals that we're exposed to in the environment. But some people like to speed along the body's normal process of elimination with a limited-time detox diet. Are these diets really effective, are they safe, and are they right for you?

Just What Is a Detox Diet?
On a typical food-based detox diet, less-healthy fried and processed foods, as well as those containing dairy, wheat, sugar and gluten, are off-limits for a certain period of time while they're replaced with lots of fresh fruits, veggies and other anti-inflammatory edibles. All About the Detox Diet

The 7-Day Detox
