Boot Camp Workout - Those three words are enough to make my knees quiver. Don't get me wrong, keeping active to stay healthy is a big part of my life. But military style? I'm not quite sure I'm among the 'few and the proud.'

Reporting for Duty
Trainers barking at me in fatigues are what have rendered me AWOL from classes like these thus far. That's why I'm happy to learn that the cliché instructors are phasing out. What's left? Tough, but results-driven exercise. Maybe it's worth a second try after all.

Basic, Basic Training
I've generally been more of a gym girl. When it comes to weight training, I've stuck to some tried and true exercises. (Good for anyone interested in getting started.)

Beyond Toning
Sure, most of us don't need to bulk up to, say, carry heavy equipment or board a tank. But remember that there's big motivation (especially for women) for doing resistance moves -- preventing osteoporosis.

At Ease
Now that your muscles are yelling at you (they'll adjust with time, I promise), here's a sweet recommendation for recovery: massage. This unconventional method will help you release tension without the need for a fat wallet and a guy named Sven.
