From Kristin Kane, your About Health Editor
With all the noise that lead up to the approval of Health Care Reform, it's no surprise that many of us came out on the other side with our heads spinning. But these changes promise to affect all of us in some profound ways (yes, I'm talking to you!), so it's worth taking some time to get the lay of the new health care land.

The Highlight Reel
The specifics of the law fill more than 2,000 pages. Now I'm sure every word is riveting, but - to be honest - it's not the first read I'm looking to curl up with at the end of the day. Here, some key elements of the plan's offerings.

No Insurance? You'll Need to Get Some
Come 2014, all American citizens and legal residents must be on a plan. Been denied coverage because of a pre-existing condition? No longer.

Changes to Medicare
Many older Americans have voiced concern over how their care could change. The approved plan promises to serve up two big-time upgrades.

The Future of Mental Health Coverage
With reform comes an expansion of what's called Mental Health Parity - that is, equal coverage for conditions like depression as you'd get with, say, diabetes.

Bras Cause Breast Cancer (and Other Myths)

About.com

From Joy Victory, your About Health Editor
Cancer is a scary disease, often with unknown origins. So it's natural that myths pop up about what causes it. In the Internet age, these myths die hard. Let's take a look at a few of them, and why they're false.

Is It True? Bras Cause Breast Cancer
I'm not going to argue that bras can sometimes feel like torture devices. But the myth that they lead to breast cancer is a fallacy. Women of all cultures and time periods have been prone to breast cancer -- not just modern women who wear bras.

Top 8 Breast Cancer Risk Myths
Bras aside, there are plenty of other misconceptions swirling around the topic of breast cancer. Here are some of the biggies.

Common Misconceptions About Lung Cancer
Lung cancer is one of the most common and deadly forms of the disease, which perhaps explains why there are so many mis-truths out there.

Top 7 Craziest Cancer Myths
These wacky ideas just make me scratch my head. Who knows how these myths got started, but let's hope they go away soon.
