This Year's Mental Health Champions
Presenting the 2024 Verywell Mind 25, This Year's Mental Health Champions
May is synonymous with Mental Health Awareness Month, and what better way to celebrate it than with our second-annual Verywell Mind 25! That's right — we're back for another highly anticipated awards showcase, where we honor 25 changemakers who are carving their own path in the mental health space for the good of their communities and the wider world.
Thanks to our readers, we received so many wonderful nominees this year—from renowned celebrity-activists using their platforms in a meaningful way to founders of BIPOC mental health organizations who are breaking through the mental health stigmas within their cultures. We (the expert panel of judges and editors) narrowed down your votes to come up with our finalists based on their quality and accuracy of work, mental health credentials and lived experiences, reach, and alignment with Verywell Mind's core values. Check out who made our list this year. | | | Taraji P. Henson | This award-winning actress and founder of the Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation is destigmatizing mental health in the Black community by offering culturally relevant, barrier-free services with a focus on cultural humility. | | | | | Kenneth Cole | As founder of The Mental Health Coalition, the fashion designer aims to establish safe online standards for kids' mental health for the first time ever. | | | | | Eric Nam | Through the launch of his self-care app Mindset, singer and songwriter Nam is making mental health care more accessible and appealing to young people and generations to come. | | | | | | |
